Many people have questions about
electrolysis.
This page was designed to answer some of your questions.
What is Electrolysis?
Electrolysis is the only medically
approved method of removing hair permanently. A small, sterile, disposable probe is inserted into the hair follicle and a
mild electrical current is passed destroying the hair either by heat action, chemical action or both, effectively killing
the hair root.
How long does it take?
The type of hair, skin sensitivity,
the amount and cause (heredity, hormonal, medications) help determine the number and length of treatments. Since hair is in
several stages of growth, only the visible hair is treated at each appointment. By adhering to a regular treatment schedule,
you will achieve faster results than someone that has treatments sporadically will. It is advisable to start by coming weekly
or every two weeks in the beginning. As progress is made, you'll find your sessions becoming shorter and further apart. Many
clients are initially dismayed to find out that Electrolysis is a process rather than an "instant fix". But remember that
the time and money you spend on Electrolysis is an investment in permanently removing unwanted hair! It's definitely worth
the commitment, if you hate that hair!
Are there any side effects?
There may be some redness
that lasts for fifteen minutes after treatment. Many patients experience no noticeable effects. Any irritation that you experience
will be temporary.
Is Electrolysis safe?
Absolutely. Modern Electrolysis
utilizes refined computerized equipment and
well-manufactured, sterile, disposable probes.
Is Electrolysis for me?
Electrolysis is the gold standard
for hair removal. Other newer methods have come and gone, but Electrolysis has endured for over 120 years! Ask anyone that
has had Electrolysis. It is definitely worth it. If you have concerns about unwanted hair, please call Katy at Select Electrolysis.
